FIU Interim President Kenneth A. Jessell shared the following message with the university community on Tuesday, February 8, 2022:
Dear FIU family,
In a message to the university community last week, I shared with you some of the steps we are taking as an institution to ensure we remain an inclusive and safe place to learn and work. As reflected in my communication, I want to invite you to participate in an FIU community dialogue that will take place at GC 140 at MMC this Thursday, February 10. The dialogue will start at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on webcast.fiu.edu.
This dialogue is an opportunity to learn about resources available at FIU, to ask questions about them and to share ideas about how we can move forward together as a community. It will be open to current FIU students, faculty and staff who can join in-person or remotely.
Joining me will be FIU’s Title IX Coordinator Ryan Kelley who will moderate this dialogue and share available resources through the Office of Civil Rights Compliance and Accessibility under the Division of Diversity Equity and Inclusion.
Other panelists include:
- Dr. Bronwen Bares Pelaez, Dean of Students
- Dr. Heidi Louisy, Associate Director, Employee and Labor Relations
- Isabel Alfonsin Vittoria, Director, Employee Assistance
In advance of the event, if you would like to share a question or comment anonymously, we are asking that you submit it using this form by Wednesday, February 9, at 6 p.m. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions or share suggestions at the event in a public forum with others in attendance. Those watching the webcast will not be able to ask questions live, but they may submit their questions through the form.
I look forward to your participation in this dialogue as we learn, heal and improve FIU.
Sincerely,
Kenneth A. Jessell
Interim President
