D’Vonte Price '21 is set to represent Panther Nation on national television at the NFL Scouting Combine on March 4 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Green School graduate will join athletes from around the country to test his speed, strength and agility in front of professional football talent evaluators.
A strong showing by Price could boost his stock before the NFL Draft in April. If selected, the Punta Gorda, Florida, native would become the first running back drafted in university history.
Price rushed for 2,221 yards during his FIU career. He emerged as FIU’s primary running back in 2020 and caught the attention of NFL scouts.
Jim Nagy, executive director of Reese's Senior Bowl, publicly identified Price as an NFL-caliber player in October 2021. The FIU standout was later invited to Nagy’s all-star game.
“Every NFL scout we’ve talked to wants to see D’Vonte Price [in the Senior Bowl],” Nagy said on Twitter. “Might not be a better-looking running back in 2022 draft.”
While at FIU, Price broke the university’s record for most yards-per-rush in a season (6.84 yards, 2020). His game-breaking speed and stout, 200lb frame make him an attractive candidate for the draft, according to multiple scouting websites.
