U.S. News & World Report ranks FIU's online programs among the Top 50

The gold-standard ranking organization gives FIU's digital offerings high marks

FIU landed at No. 49 for best overall online bachelor’s program among public universities in U.S. News & World Report's 2023 rankings released today. Eight bachelor's and master's programs were in the Top 50. In the category of Best Online Program for Veterans, FIU ranked No. 31 among all public universities.

The U.S. News rankings highlight the university’s commitment to quality and underscore its dedication to excellence in online learning. For the 2023 edition, the publication assessed an all-time high of 1,833 online degree programs and ranked 1,763 of them. The rankings measure overall academic quality at the baccalaureate and master's levels across disciplines. The information presented in the online directory and used in the rankings was collected during summer and fall 2022 as part of the U.S. News annual statistical survey of online degree programs. 

The public rankings are as follows:

College of Business

  • Best Online Business Analytics MBA: 15
  • Best Online Master's in Business: 16
  • Best Online Bachelor's in Business: 18
  • Best Online MBA: 32

College of Arts, Science, & Education

  • Best Online Bachelor's in Psychology: 16
  • Best Online Master's in Education: 40

Steven J. Green School of International and Public Affairs

  • Best Online Master's in Criminal Justice: 10

College of Engineering

  • Best Online Master's in Engineering: 35

Miami’s public R1 research university, FIU offers more than 190 degrees, many available online. The university is ranked No. 1 in the nation for the number of online courses – more than 500 – certfied through the Quality Matters (QM) review process, which evaluated offerings against more than 40 nationally recognized standards.
