The following communication was sent to the FIU community at approximately 6:15 this evening.
Based on the current forecast, normal operations are expected to resume Thursday morning at MMC and Engineering Center.
BBC and FIU at I-75 are closed due to flooding. Both locations will remain closed until further notice. Please stay alert to further communications about when BBC and FIU at I-75 will reopen.
The shuttle between MMC and BBC will continue its normal schedule this evening to ensure riders can get home safely.
More heavy rain is expected tonight and through the remainder of the week.
Please take necessary precautions, look for downed powerlines and avoid driving through flooded roadways. Also, please monitor local media for updates throughout the next few days.
We ask that professors and supervisors exercise flexibility with students, faculty and staff who may be impacted by the weather.
