Men's basketball prepares to close regular season strong
The Panthers are having one of their best seasons ever. They are 11-2 at home. They lead the country in blocked shots.
Now, the team is looking to secure a first-round bye in the Conference USA Tournament.
The Panthers have two games left: at Lousiana Tech on Wednesday and at home versus Western Kentucky on Saturday. If the team wins both games, then FIU will earn a first-round bye.
The C-USA Tournament begins on March 11. Winning it would secure the Panthers their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1995.
The Panthers snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday with a 67-52 win at Charlotte. With the victory, head coach Jeremy Ballard set an FIU record for most wins in a two-year span.
