October 2020 in photos: Homecoming, research and Roary get his flu shot

It was another busy month at the university. Homecoming week, which brought a flurry of activity both virtual and socially distanced, included a car caravan, a drive-in talent show and culminated at "The Cage" for the football team's first game on campus in nearly a year. Meanwhile, university faculty, staff and students carried on vital work to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

Here are some of our favorite moments from October, as captured by FIU photographer Margi Rentis.

Panthers Got Talent had a twist this year. Instead of having in-person performances, the FIU Homecoming Council asked members of the university community to record their talents. The clips were edited together and displayed on campus in the form of a drive-in movie. Photo by Margi Rentis.
