Dr. Aileen Marty tells stories of researching world's deadliest diseases on Panther Personalities podcast
Dr. Aileen Marty's life has taken her all over the world in pursuit of defending people against some of the most deadly diseases known to humankind. From studying bioweapons as a captain in the Navy to fighting an ebola outbreak in Africa as an envoy for the World Health Organization to speaking with the public about COVID-19, the FIU professor has many stories to tell.
In a 20-minute interview for Panther Personalities, a new podcast by FIU, Marty recounts the experiences that made her into the infectious disease expert she is today. Host David Drucker asks her about various missions she has taken in the name of public health. And Marty lets the audience in on her lowkey lifelong friendship with three-time Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefan.
