June 2021 in photos: No. 1 in Florida, Juneteenth and Poincianas in bloom

It was a month of "firsts" for FIU. The university earned the No. 1 spot in Florida, according to the Board of Governors' performance-based funding scores—and a new annual tradition was started when the university held its first-ever Juneteenth Celebration to honor freedom and educate people about African American history. FIU earned the highest score among public universities in the state, according to the Florida Board of Governors performance-based funding scores.
