Yaffa Popack joins FIU Board of Trustees
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed Yaffa Popack to the FIU Board of Trustees.
Popack is the co-founder and chairwoman of YMP Real Estate Management LLC, where she manages daily operations and supervises capital expenditure projects. She also is co-founder of Neighborhood Farms USA, an organization committed to educating communities on nutrition and food accessibility.“Trustee Popack joins the FIU family at a time of great excitement for the rising rankings and multiple areas in which we are leading at the national level,” said Rogelio Tovar, chair of the FIU Board of Trustees. “On behalf of the board, I welcome Trustee Popack and look forward to working with her to continue supporting FIU’s ascent.”
Popack is a graduate of Columbia University and Yeshiva University’s Benjamin Cardozo Law School in New York.
“I am honored that the Governor chose me to serve on FIU’s Board of Trustees,” Popack said. “As someone who cares deeply about higher education in Florida, I look forward to helping lead FIU in its continued success as one of America’s top universities.”
Popack succeeds Jose J. Armas, who served on the Board of Trustees since 2011. Popack’s appointment on the board is pending confirmation by the Florida Senate.
