FIU graduate programs among best in the nation in U.S. News rankings

FIU’s graduate international business program improved its national position to No. 4, according to U.S. News and World Report rankings released today. It remains No. 2 among public universities and FIU’s top-ranked program.

Graduate programs in the Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work and the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs also landed in the top 50 among public universities in U.S. News & World Report's 2023-2024 edition of Best Graduate Schools released Tuesday.

“These rankings, once again, show that FIU is focused on outcomes and impact,” said FIU Executive Vice President and Provost Elizbeth M. Béjar. “Graduates can be confident that their FIU degree stands for excellence and success. They are poised to become successful employees and employers of choice."

The nursing master’s program ranked No. 29 among public universities (No. 47 nationally), along with the Doctor of Nursing Practice program that ranked No.41 among public universities (No. 56 nationally).

Public health ranked No. 42 among public schools (No. 67 nationally).

Public affairs ranked No. 46 overall among public schools (No. 63 nationally). Programs that did well among public universities included global policy at No. 2 (No. 11 nationally), homeland security at No. 7 (No. 8 nationally), public finance at No. 20 (No. 26 nationally), and leadership at No. 27 (No. 35 nationally).

The overall graduate engineering program also jumped 34 spots to land among the top 100 nationally at No. 92 (No. 61 among public universities).

These rankings do not include colleges of law and medicine. Those rankings will be released at a future date.
